Cancel Google Workspace – No Easy Task

There is nothing more frustrating than trying to cancel a Google subscription when it does not show in Subscriptions and Payments of your Google admin account. The promo phrase ‘Cancel Anytime’ is easier said/written than done. When you can’t find where it should be, where else is there to look other than in your own Google admin account.
I’ve tried twice before to cancel Google Workspace without any progress. I tried again this evening, it’s been a waste of time, at least an hour or two. Here is a screenshot below I took off my phone, but the help pages on my desktop are far more comprehensive. Even with these pages of help, there is still no outcome.
One of the problems is remembering the reasons and history of how you came to the decision to subscribe to Google Workspace.
Why subscribe to Google Workspace?
The main reasons individuals and businesses subscribe to Google Workspace is to access a professional, secure, and integrated suite of productivity and collaboration tools tailored for organizational use, including features like custom business email, enhanced security, and seamless real-time teamwork. Expanded cloud storage, and solutions for appointment scheduling, email marketing, eSignature, and administration support. It is a toolkit for running and growing businesses.
Sitting Idle
We are all guilty of loading apps that are underutilized or not used at all. These apps take storage space and if they are a paid subscription app it is an unnecessary cost to the business. The reasons for subscribing to a product like Google Workspace are reasonable and valid at the time of purchase become an expense, not an asset.
Cancellation Process
Ninety-nine percent of the time the process to cancel an application is straightforward. However, if the subscription is not listed in your subscription and payments section of your
Google Administration account, you ask yourself; “Where is it?”
That is the position I now find myself in.
Monthly Payment
Early each month, like clockwork, the payment to Google goes out. They have the account details, and my personal details and a subscription. Everything they require is entered in administration – except the subscription details do not show where they should be. That is the dilemma. No details show, therefore I cannot cancel a subscription whose details are not showing anywhere I searched.
Summary
Registration was made under my personal Google email account. It was left ticking away, unused for a year. Trying to cancel this subscription has so far proved fruitless. I will put it aside for another day, then tackle the problem with a complete cancellation as the goal.
